All of your campers are safe and enjoying close to normal camp activities.
At the end of Junior High 1 Camp on Saturday, June 25, 2016, pick up for campers will follow normal procedure.
We want to inform you Route 82 between Birch River and Cowen is closed! Before you leave on Saturday morning, June 25, please check with the DOH or call 511 to determine if this route has reopened to be used for camper pick-up.
Here are alternative directions to pick up your child at Camp Cowen on the morning of Saturday, June 25, 2016. These directions were given to us by the Webster County Department of Transportation at noon on Friday, June 24.
TAKE I-79 TO FLATWOODS EXIT 67. TAKE ROUTE 15 EAST ALL THE WAY TO WEBSTER SPRINGS TO THE RED LIGHT. AT THE LIGHT, TURN RIGHT TO COWEN. GO ABOUT 13 MILES TOWARDS COWEN TO THE Y-MART STORE. TURN AT THE CAMP COWEN SIGN TO LOWER WILLIAMS RIVER ROAD FOR ABOUT TWO MILES TO THE CAMP ENTRANCE ON THE LEFT.
CAMP COWEN'S PHYSICAL ADDRESS IS 276 BAPTIST CAMP ROAD, COWEN, WV 26206.
Junior 2 Camp will begin as planned on Sunday, June 26, 2016!

DISASTER RELIEF UPDATE
American Baptist Men Disaster Relief has been activated along with volunteers to help clean up at Camp Cowen and provide relief to several flood stricken areas. Frank Miller is coordinating with the men who work with VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster) and the governor's office for priority assignments.
Volunteer teams are welcomed for clean ups. Summersville Baptist Church (304.872.1361) is available for housing.
Financial assistance can be provided by: 1. One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) -- West Virginia Disaster Relief or 2. Specifics -- American Baptist Men Disaster Relief, 3. You can also donate online at www.wvbc.org and designate for flood relief.

Youth Leader Core 2016-2017
We are looking for youth to become a part of our Youth Leader Core (YLC) for 2016-2017.
Youth Leader Core is a five weekend commitment for personal enrichment and leadership training that requires involvement in your local church. The YLC experience will help you be a better leader in your church.
We ask for your help in nominating one or two youth from your church - no exceptions - whom you feel will do a good job in your church as a leader. Qualifications should include: 1.) Be a Christian, 2.) Have potential as a leader, 3.) Be in the tenth or eleventh grade (2016-2017 school year), 4.) Be a member of your church.

The School of Christian Studies is offering a special opportunity for you to attend four classes this summer (June and July) at Oakwood Baptst Church in Charleston!
David Moutz, pastor, Oakwood Baptist Church will be instructing two one-day modules and two one-day electives this June and July. The classes are as follows: June 11, 2016 - Creating Community (Mod-01) six hours, July 2, 2016 - Making Peace (Mod-4) six hours, July 16, 2016 - Baptism and Communion (E-06) four hours and July 23, 2016 - Weddings and Funerals (E-05) four hours.
