We are grateful for the many ways our WVBC Family has stepped up in recent weeks to help flood victims across our state. While the initial cleanup typically takes a few weeks, the long-term recovery effort often takes several years.
DONATIONS FOR LEWIS AND UPSHUR COUNTIES:

Thanks to your tremendous support, many of the initial items have already been donated. However, there are still several larger and more long-term items that are needed.

Flooding over the past weekend caused dozens of homes to be destroyed or in need of significant repairs.

- Paper towels

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Samaritan’s Purse (until 8/28)
Samaritan’s Purse is organizing teams to serve homeowners in Lewis and Upshur Counties through August 28th. Tools are provided. Lodging and meals provided for 3 or more day commitments. There is no cost to serve. Volunteers must be 14 years old or older.

Weston Senior Center
Repairing and reconstruction opportunities at the Weston Senior Center are available at the Center on August 24th led by Dana Gatewood and August 29th led by Evan Arkell. When operational, the Center provides seniors transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping, as well as distributing 150 meals a day.
