Missional Church Projects 2008-2010

1.) Goshen Baptist Church, Morgantown
(Goshen Association)

"Heads and Helmets"
Project to do a bicycle rodeo for kids and a helmet and head lice comb give-away with PTA and Fire Department
.


2.) Grafton First Baptist Church
(Union Association)
"Christmas Community Outreach"
 A special food distribution early in December in cooperation with another community church to help during the holiday season.


3.) Huntington Baptist Temple 
(Guyandotte Association)

A community clean-up project and smoke detector give-away with police and fire departments.



4.) Masontown First Baptist Church
(Goshen Association)

Beautification projects of flowers, etc. for the town of Masontown, with the town council.


5.) Mill Creek Baptist Church, Leroy
(Good Hope Association)

"Christmas Sharing Center"
Partnering with the whole community (including local businesses) to share gifts, clothing and boxes of food in a shopping format with people bringing in and picking up at the Christmas Sharing Center; concluding with a community Christmas dinner where everyone involved is invited to attend
.



6. Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Brownton
(Union Association)
"For the Glory of God"
Start up costs for a Community Center in Galloway, with other area churches.



7.) Parchment Valley Baptist Church, Ripley
(Good Hope Association)
"Welcome to Our Neighborhood"
Welcoming single parents in a housing development in partnership with community social services in a 'fair' type setting.


8.) Parkersburg Baptist Temple 
(Parkersburg Association)
Working with "House to Home" and other association churches to provide a free meal during a time when other meal sites have no meal.


9.) Parkersburg First Baptist Church 
(Parkersburg Association)
A yearly community ice cream festival with area businesses and city council.




10.) Ravenswood First Baptist Church
(Good Hope Association)

"CommUnity Kitchen"
Providing a no cost meal for any food insecure people two Saturdays a month, in partnership with Parchment Valley Conference Center, Walmart, Foodfair, Big Lots, Krogers, other churches and community volunteers - including high school students
.


11.) Send the Light Community Fellowship, Frankford (Greenbrier-Raleigh Association)"Love in a Brown Bag"
Providing low income children with a healthy bag of snacks to take home from school on Fridays for use during the weekends when they will not be receiving food programs provided in the schools.
